Ultherapy®, or Ulthera®, is an award-winning High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology. It is the GOLD STANDARD treatment in non-surgical skin tightening and facelift. It is the ONLY FDA approved, non-invasive cosmetic procedure that tightens and lifts the skin and reduces lines and wrinkles in one treatment session with results last for years. Ultherapy® does not require any downtime as seen in traditional surgical facelifts, and you can return to your normal routine right after the treatment. How Does Ultherapy® Skin Tightening & Facelift Work?
Collagen is a natural protein in the skin. As we age, our collagen breaks down resulting in a loss of strength and elasticity in the skin. Ultherapy® uses focused, precise ultrasound energy to target the deep structural layers of the skin without disrupting the skin’s surface. The innovative ultrasound technology from Ultherapy® delivers ultrasound energy at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration while strengthening the existing collagen. You may encounter fast, discontinuous sensation of warmth and prickling at the treatment area during the Ultherapy® procedure. Some patients report experiencing mild discomfort but bearable. You may feel the the prickling heat more intense in certain areas where the face skin is thinner and more sensitive. Ultherapy® is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure and is very safe if operated by a qualified professional. For you safety, make sure to do your research and find an authorized Ultherapy® provider.
Ultherapy® Pre Treatment Instructions:
- Avoid using Retinol, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid for 3 days prior to the treatment
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days prior to the treatment
- Avoid Botox at least 1 week prior to the treatment
- Avoid dermal fillers at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Shave the treatment area(s) if necessary before the treatment
- Do not apply any skincare or cosmetic products prior to the treatment.
- No jewelry, earrings, necklace, etc. on the treatment day
- For discomfort management, you can take 1000mg Tylenol Extra Strength 1 hour prior to the treatment
Ultherapy® Post Treatment Instructions:
- Avoid taking any Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Celebrex, Aspirin, etc. for 1 month, as they may lead to suboptimal results. The inflammatory response in your tissue from Ultherapy® works in a positive way to stimulate collagen production and remodelling. You may take Tylenol Extra Strength if needed. You may also apply aloe vera gel if you experience discomfort after the treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 days after the treatment
- Avoid excessive sweating and heat like saunas and hot tubs
- Avoid using exfoliators, Retinol, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid for 2 days after the treatment
- Use sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) – we strong recommend the Broad Spectrum Sunscreen (SPF 50) from ZO Skin Health®, which is specifically designed for post-procedure skin
- To boost the Ultherapy® results, we recommend at least adding the following medical-grade skincare products to your daily skin care regimen: 1) Vitamin C serum in the morning – C E Ferulic® serum from SkinCeuticals® or 10% Vitamin C Self-activating serum from ZO Skin Health®; 2) Retinol at night (use 2 days after the treatment) – Retinol Skin Brightener .25% from ZO Skin Health® or Wrinkle + Texture cream (0.5% retinol) from ZO Skin Health®; 3) Anti-aging serum at night – TNS® Advanced+ Serum from SkinMedica® or Resveratrol B E Serum from SkinCeuticals®
